Become a content queen and learn my secrets to an effective social media content strategy.
Building go-to brands and creating vibing online communities with social media strategies that actually work (and won't take over your life!)
As a product-based business, you might think that showing your face or telling people about yourself isn’t relevant at all to your business. Well… that couldn’t be further from the truth!
Before I start telling you why this isn’t true, I’d like to give you some examples of business owners who have used their personal brands to create strong online communities, and successful businesses.
– The first one is one of my favourite brands, Bon Maxie. A super successful Brisbane based brand who has built a loyal following by sharing the founders personal stories, being active on stories and video – and most of all, showing her face!
– To show you a bit of a different angle, check out Montii Co . Instead of just highlighting their founder, they have built their brand around their whole team and regularly get their team involved in their socials. They also champion their customers and they have a big presence on their socials (but that isn’t exactly what we are speaking about today!)
So why would people want to see your face to buy your products? In simple terms, people buy from people – they become invested in personal stories and like to be able to relate to the person they are buying from in some way. If you hide behind your brand and your products, people won’t be able to relate to you as a person and therefore – it will be much harder to build that ‘cult’ following.
My advice? Start small by posting a photo of your face and sharing a bit about yourself, and why you started your business. Then get on your Instagram stories, then work up to longer-form video, live videos – you get the gist! You don’t need to do everything at once, but you do need to put a face to your brand.
