Become a content queen and learn my secrets to an effective social media content strategy.
Building go-to brands and creating vibing online communities with social media strategies that actually work (and won't take over your life!)
Although salesy isn’t in the dictionary (it totally should be), I’m sure some specific brands come to mind when you hear that word. Brands that are selling in the wrong way and not speaking to their audience.
At a time like this, small businesses are going to be able to survive by selling on social media – but people don’t want to be ‘sold’ to. Sounds like a lose-lose situation right? Well I’m going to tell you how to get around this.
The number one thing you need to do is provide value to your customers. If you’re a service provider or a product based business who can provide educational content (such as a natural skincare company) then this part will be *so* easy for you. If you can’t educate people directly, you can provide value in other ways.
You need to know your audience inside out and be aware of their pain points. If you know what problems they have and how your brand can solve them, you’ll easily be able to work out which types of content will be valuable for them. Whether this is inspiration, humour, or storytelling – anything that they relate to and will find engaging.
When it comes to speaking about your product or service, show how your offering will help solve your audience’s problems. Don’t just speak about the benefits or the specific characteristics of your products – get into the heads of your audience and write directly to their pain (and pleasure) points.
And now, more than ever – you need to be personal. Take people behind the scenes, open up about your business and how you are navigating these uncertain times, provide humour and entertainment. People want to buy from people *and* they want to connect to the brand they are buying from. Showing your personality is a great way to connect on a deeper level to your audience.
